The Supreme Court has a lot of work left to do, and little time to do it. The court is headed into its final few weeks with nearly half of the cases heard this year undecided, including ones that could reshape the law on everything from guns to abortion to social media. The justices are also still weighing whether former President Donald Trump is immune from criminal prosecution in the election interference case against him, more than a month after hearing arguments. The court has heard 61 cases so far but still has 29 cases to decide.

Across the U.S., thieves have been targeting electric-vehicle charging stations, intent on stealing the cables, which contain copper wiring. The price of copper is near a record high on global markets, which means criminals stand to collect rising sums of cash from selling the material. The stolen cables often disable entire charging stations. Broken-down chargers have emerged as the latest obstacle for U.S. automakers in their effort to convert more Americans to EVs despite public anxiety about a scarcity of charging stations. If even finding a charging station doesn’t necessarily mean finding functioning cables, it becomes another reason for buyers to stick with gasoline-fueled or hybrid vehicles, at least for now.

It held its annual spring benefit on Tuesday with a star-studded event featuring Usher, Babyface and performances by Jordin Sparks, Johnny Gill and others. The benefit is its largest annual fundraising effort. It raised $3 million this year. Usher was presented with the Icon Award. ST. LOUIS — As Paul Skenes strutted to the Pirates’ dugout, it was with an unfamiliar backdrop.

Yusei Kikuchi and four Toronto Blue Jays relievers combined to shut out the Milwaukee Brewers 3-0 on Tuesday night. Kikuchi (4-5) gave up three hits in five innings, walked four and struck out five to record consecutive wins for the first time since April. Closer Yimi Garcia got four outs to record his fifth save in six tries. George Springer, Spencer Horwitz and Danny Jansen had run-scoring hits for Toronto. Carlos Rodriguez became the eighth Brewers player to make their major league debut this season. The 22-year-old righthander also became the 12th different pitcher to make a start for Milwaukee through 67 games.

Aaron Judge hit his major league-leading 25th home run with a 436-foot, two-run drive into the fountain behind the center-field seats, and the New York Yankees routed the Kansas City Royals 10-1 for their 11th win in 14 games. Giancarlo Stanton followed Judge with a 446-foot shot and Austin Wells hit a three-run homer. Judge hit his 21st homer in his last 41 games and also singled in New York’s first run. He raised his average to .309 and is hitting .419 with 44 RBIs in his last 35 games after batting .197 through May 2.
