Today, Mew and her friends arrived at a small town.
Max is the first to notice, "Hey, look at that sign!"
Everyone looks and sees it.
Brock reads the sign, "'The gym with the world's most powerful Pokémon just ahead'."
"That's so cool! The world's most powerful Pokémon?" Tomo says.
"Loetta," (Oh my.) Meloetta says.
"I can't wait to find out which one it is!" May says.
"Let's go check it out!" Max says.
"Yeah. Let's go," Mew says.
Soon, everyone else nears the gym.
"Uh, guess this is it," Mew replies.
Soon, they hear and see someone screaming and running out of the gym.
"Hey, what's the matter?" Mew wonders.
"What's all the screaming?" Molly wonders.
The kid says, "Oh, man, it's crazy! And it can't be possible!" and gets up and runs off, "That's not a normal Pokémon!"
"Do you think he just lost a battle to the world's most powerful Pokémon?" Brock wonders.
"He must be talking about the one on that sign back there!" Max says.
"What kind of Pokemon is it?" Jen wonders.
"Well, the best way to find out is for me to challenge that Pokemon myself," Mew says.
Soon, they enter the gym and step onto the battlefield.
Mew calls out "Hello! I'm here for the world's most powerful Pokémon! I challenge you to a battle!
Soon, cheering is heard as the door to the gym, proper, opens before someone jumps out with a championship belt on and a Pelipper right by his side. The man has dark hair, tan skin. He is wearing a shirt, red pants, and wears a belt around his waist.
The gym leader announces, "A battle call! The sound that's music to my ears! They call me Anthony. You want the battle of your life, you've come to the right place!"
Everyone is dumbfounded.
"I guess a lack of confidence isn't an issue here," Brock says.
Mew calms himself and says, "My name is Ashley, and I'm here for a gym battle."
"Is that Pelipper really the world's most powerful Pokémon?" Max asks.
"You can bet your boots on that, but this is not an official gym, "Anthony says, "And I have no badges to give either. After all, why should I have any badges on hand when my Pelipper here never ever loses?"
"He's pretty sure of himself," Mew says and brings out her Pokedex.
Dextette says, "Pelipper, the Water Bird Pokémon. A Water and Flying Type. Pelipper carry small items in their mouths over long distances and, when tired, rest floating on the water.
Anthony: Mark my words, I will not rest until everyone knows that Pelipper is the world's most powerful Pokémon!
"This guy should hold seminars," Brock says.
"Yeah! Well, then I challenge you and Pelipper to a battle!" Mew says.
Anthony laughs, "I accept any and all challenges anywhere and anytime."
Brock nods, "We wouldn't expect anything less."
"What are the rules?" Mew asks.
"I battle using only the world's most powerful Pokémon. You may use as many Pokémon as you like," Anthony says.
"Really?" Mew asks, shocked.
"Well, this just keeps gettin' better and better," Brock says.
"Alright then, let's battle," Mew says.
Soon, both trainers are ready.
Mew calls out her Pokemon, "Go, Treecko, I choose you!"
And Treecko comes out.
Anthony calls out, "Pelipper, let's go!"
Over on the sidelines.
"I'm not so sure about this 'world's most powerful Pokémon' stuff," Brock says.
"Me, neither," Jen says.
May turns to Max and asks, "Hey, Max, what kind of attacks does Pelipper use?"
"A Pelipper has the ability to use both flying and water attacks. You're the Pokémon trainer, May. You should know at least that much," Max says.
May just playfully smiles and sticks out her tongue.
Anthony calls out, "Pelipper, Wing Attack, let's go!"
Pelipper takes off and darts in.
"Now, Treecko, dodge it!" Mew calls out.
Treecko does so.
"Way to go, Treecko!" Mew says, "Gotta say, when it comes to speed, you're number one."
"That Pelipper sure doesn't look all that impressive to me," Max says.
"That's usually how it goes with people who love bragging so much," May says.
And then Anthony says, "This battle is just beginning! Alright Pelipper, Vine Whip!"
Max and Mew are surprised.
"Wait, what did he say?" Mew questions.
"Pelipper can't use Vine Whip!" Max says.
Pelipper slightly opens its mouth and vines come out, shocking everyone
"Dodge it, now!" Mew calls out.
Treecko does so, but the vines manage to grab its right ankle.
"Oh no!" Mew cries out.
"Go, Pelipper! Throw Treecko!" Anthony calls out.
Pelipper proceeds to swing Treecko around before throwing it to the ground below.
Mew rushes to her Pokemon, "Treecko, are you okay?"
"Looks like it's the end of the line for your Treecko," Anthony says.
"I never would've guessed that a Pelipper can use Vine Whip," Brock says, shocked.
"Cause it can't. It's impossible," Max says.
"I agree, Max. Pelipper shouldn't be capable of doing that," Jen says.
Anthony laughs, "Ha! What next, Ashley? I'll take on any Pokémon that you've got!"
"Since you're using a flying type, I'll use one of my own," Mew says and brings out her Pokemon, "Okay, go, Taillow!"
Taillow then appears.
Anthony calls out, "You go, too, Pelipper."
Pelipper darts in.
"There's nothing faster in the air than my Taillow," Mew says.
Taillow zooms forward before Pelipper starts to chase after it before Taillow manages to get behind it.
"Good work, Taillow! Now, right into a Peck attack!" Mew calls out.
Taillow darts forward.
"Nice try, Ashley," Anthony says, "Now get a load of this Flamethrower!"
"Flamethrower?!" Mew says, shocked.
Pelipper comes back around, launches the attack and engulfs Taillow, sending it crashing to the ground.
"Taillow! Are you okay?" Mew calls out.
As Mew talks, Taillow passes out.
"No! Not fire attacks, too!" Max says, shocked.
"That Pelipper is full of surprises, huh?" Brock says.
May turns to Max, "Uh, Max, I thought that you said Pelipper can only use flying and water attacks. Sounds like you need to study a little more."
"That's all it can use! I don't get it! What's the deal with this Pelipper?! This is not supposed to be happening!" Max says.
"Ready to give up yet, Ashley?" Anthony questions, "No matter which Pokémon you use, the results are the same!"
"There's no way that I'll ever give up!" Mew says. She then calls out, "Eevee, are you ready? Let's go!
Eevee then leaps into battle.
"Eevee, there's no telling what attack that Pelipper's gonna use, so just keep focused on it!" Mew calls out.
"Eevee! (You got it.) Eevee says.
"Eevee We're ready for you," Anthony says.
Max is shocked, "Aw, come on! It knows electric attacks, too?!"
Anthony calls out, "Okay, Pelipper, let's go!"
Pelipper takes off, as the sound and light of a Pokéball opening is heard and seen inside Pelipper's beak. But known to Pelipper and Eevee both see and hear it.
"What was that?" Mew questions.
She then decides to focus on the battle and calls out, "Eevee, use Thunder attack!"
"You, too, Pelipper!" Anthony calls out.
Eevee launches his attack as Pelipper launches its own Thunder. The two attacks collide and cause an explosion powerful enough to send them both reeling.
Mew rushes to Eevee, "Eevee, are you hurt, pal?"
"Oh, no! Pelipper!" Anthony calls out and rushes to his Pokemon, "You needed a more powerful Pokémon! I mean, a more powerful attack against Eevee!
"What did he just say?" Mew questions.
Anthony gets up with Pelipper in his arms, "So, you now know what it's like to battle the world's most powerful Pokemon!"
Anthony then turns with a huff and runs back into the gym.
Mew picks up Eevee, "Eevee, hang in there."
"Let's get him to the Pokemon Center, right away!" Brock says.
Mew and the others quickly leave the gym, unaware that Team Rocket has been spying on them.
"Did you see that?" Jessie asks.
"Yes, and what I'm thinking is if we had that Pelipper at our disposal, capturing Pikachu and Eevee would be a cinch!" James says.
Then Jessie says, "Let me clear this up. With the world's most powerful Pokemon, we wouldn't even need Pikachu, nor Eevee.
"She makes a good point," Meowth says.
"But there's one small problem with that kind of power. Overpowering the world's most powerful Pokemon requires a Pokemon with even more power then the first one," James says.
"Dat means we'd have to catch a more powerful Pokemon den da most powerful Pokemon," Meowth says.
And Jessie says, "And that means we'd need to catch one with more power than the one that's more powerful than the most powerful."
"Den we'd need a more powerful Pokemon den da more powerful…" Meowth says and soon, winces in pain, "I just bit my tongue."
Then Jessie says, "Hey! Let's remember who we are, and just do it!
"Okay, we'll just do it!" James and Meowth say.
"Glad you see it my way. Now put your heads together and come up with a plan," Jessie says.
James and Meowth just stumble in disbelief.
"Wobbuffet." (And quickly!) Wobbuffet says.
Meanwhile, inside the gym…
"Come on, Pelipper, speak to me! Tell me that you're going to be okay," Anthony says in concern.
Pelipper answers, "Pelipper." (I'm okay.)
Anthony smiles, but then…
Meowth's voice appears, "Resistance is futile! Come out, now!"
Anthony and Pelipper rush out and spot Team Rocket's balloon
"Now here dis, da Pokemon more powerful den da powerful…" Meowth says.
But Meowth bites his tongue again, "I bit my tongue again!"
"Who is spouting all of that nonsense?!" Anthony demands.
And Team Rocket performs their motto.
Jessie:
Prepare for trouble, we're Team Rocket, hear us shout!
James:
And make it double, how's that for a spout?
Jessie:
To protect the world from devastation!
James:
To unite all peoples within our nation!
Jessie:
To denounce the evils of truth and love!
James:
To extend our reach to the stars above!
Jessie:
Jessie.
James:
James.
Jessie:
Team Rocket spouts off the truth at the speed of light!
James:
Surrender now, I always say, or prepare to fight!
Meowth:
Dat's right!
Wobbuffet:
Wobbuffet! (End of scene!)
Meowth then calls out, "Now relinquish dat powerful Pelipper please!"
"That will never happen!" Anthony refuses and calls out, "Now, Pelipper, let's go!"
Pelipper takes to the air.
"Quickly!" Jessie and James say.
The threesome promptly put on armored football uniforms.
"Activating Poké-power play plan!" Jessie says.
"More powerful than Pelipper!" James says.
"Don't get me started," Meowth says.
Anthony then calls out, "Pelipper, Vine Whip!"
Pelipper then uses Vine Whip.
Meowth then shouts, "Go defense!"
From the bottom of the basket, a mechanical arm extends and grabs the vines and pulls out the source of them, a Bellsprout using Vine Whip, bringing a look of shock to Team Rocket
"Where'd that stinkin' Bellsprout come from?!" Meowth exclaims in shock.
Anthony soon begins to panic, "Uh oh! Flamethrower! No, no, no! Thunderbolt! No, no, no! Water Gun! Yes, that's it!"
Pelipper opens its beak and all the calls for attacks launch.
"Dat Pelipper's havin' an identity crisis!" Meowth says, shocked.
Something inside Pelipper's beak wriggles around as Team Rocket remove their helmets.
"Now's our chance!" Jessie says.
"That potent Pelipper…" James says.
"Will be pinched!" Meowth adds.
The mechanical arm grabs the Pelipper and hangs it upside down, causing the sources of the Flamethrower and Thunderbolt, a Magby and a Magnemite, respectively, to fall out, bringing a look of horror to Anthony
"And what's this? This is just plain dishonest," Jessie says.
And James says, ""You had the nerve to fill Pelipper's beak with Pokéballs and paraded around like it's some sort of polytechnic Pokemon!"
"And you tought you was gonna get away with dat multi-attack approach?!" Meowth says.
Soon, Anthony drops to his knees, "I, didn't mean any harm. I only wanted to have the world's most powerful Pokemon," And breaks up, "Is that so very wrong?"
"You bet it is, rule breaker!" James says.
"Filthy criminal!" Meowth says.
And Jessie says, "What a brilliant idea."
Both James and Meowth fall over in disbelief
"You were very good. You really had us going there for a while. I can't help but wonder, what everyone will think when they find out.," Jessie says.
But Anthony begs, "No! No, please, not that! The world's most powerful Pokémon legend should live!"
"We can help you out with that, but you'll have the help us, first," Jessie says.
"And you'd better pay attention, buster, if you know what's good for ya!" James says.
"Cause when she's conivin' like dis, don't mess around!" Meowth says.
Jessie then says, "Now that we understand each other, you can tell your Pelipper to do whatever we say."
Anthony gasps in shock, "Guess I've no choice. Dearest Pelipper, do whatever they say, understand?"
Pelipper agrees.
Jessie cheers, "Victory!"
"And not just in the Hoenn region, but the entire world, as well! And well beyond!" James says.
"Da sky's da limit!," Meowth says.
"Wobbuffet," (You said it!) Wobbuffet says.
Anthony and Pelipper hug
"Oh, Pelipper," Anthony says, very concerned,
Meanwhile, at the Pokémon Center
Max searches in his book, "It can't be. There are only certain kinds of attacks that a Pokémon is able to use," and shrugs, "There's something wacky going on here, but I just can't figure it out."
"Just goes to show you that what you study is not always reality. Maybe this experience will bring you down a notch or two, Brainiac," May says.
"I just know there's something fishy about that Pelipper!" Max says.
"Yeah. How could someone possibly raise a certain type of Pokémon to be able to perform that many different kinds of attacks?" Brock says, "Then again, Eevee is a normal Type, but she's able to perform other kinds of attacks."
"True," Max says.
"Well, you're right about one thing. There should be no way that Pelipper can use those kinds of attacks, unless it had some help from its beak" Mew says.
That catches the others' attention.
"What do you mean?" Molly asks.
Soon, the treatment light goes off and Nurse Joy brings out Mew's Pokemon.
Nurse Joy walks over, "Ashley, your Pokémon are all rested up and fighting fit."
"Cool, thanks a lot, Nurse Joy," Mew says.
Mew picks up her Pokeballs and Eevee, "You okay, girl."
Eevee nods in response.
Suddenly, May runs over, "Ashley, come quick! Something terrible happened!"
They soon see the lobby filled with people looking disappointed.
"What happened?" Mew asks.
Tomo then says, "They all battled the world's most powerful Pokémon and lost and had their Pokémon taken away."
"What?" Mew asks, shocked.
Even Pikachu and Eevee are shocked, "Pika?/Eev?" (Say what?!)
"Hey! That's against the rules!" Nurse Joy says, upset.
"So Anthony started taking other people's Pokémon?" Mew says, stunned.
"I don't think Anthony has anything to do with this," Brock says.
"I have to agree. Something's fishy going on here," Mew says.
"What do we do?" Jen asks.
"Simple, we're going back to that gym," Mew says.
Meanwhile, at the gym.
Jessie announces, "Ladies and gentlemen, step right up and test your skill!"
"Beat the world's most powerful Pokémon and win any Pokemon that your little heart desires! And you can battle with any of your Pokémon that you'd like! But, if you happen to lose to our powerful Pelipper, then we'll keep your Pokémon!" James says.
"Take a chance! No trainer should miss this opportunity to put his or her Pokemon to the test!" Jessie says.
"Da truth is, you've got nuttin' to gain an everyting to lose!" Meowth says.
James shushes Meowth, "Shh! Got everything to gain and nothing to lose."
"Okay," Meowth says.
Jessie soon turns to a trainer, "Hey there, handsome, big strong guy! Why don't you try a battle?"
"Fine. Why don't you try and beat my Zigzagoon?" The trainer says.
Team Rocket laughs with wicked glee.
The trainer throws his Pokeball and calls out, "Zigzagoon, go!"
Zigzagoon comes out.
James calls out, "Pelipper, go!"
Pelipper zooms in
James calls out, "Razor Leaf, now!"
Pelipper launches the attack and catching the trainer off guard
"What?!" The trainer says, shocked,
James calls out, "Now use Flamethrower!"
Pelipper calls out.
The trainer is even more shocked, "What's the deal?!"
"Finish with Thunder!" Jessie calls out.
Pelipper launches the attack again.
"Oh no!" The trainer is shocked, runs away and out of the gym, "My Zigzagoon!"
"Tanks for playin'!" Meowth says.
Meowth soon sees Mew and the others coming, "Not dem!"
Checking over the Pokeballs, Jessie and James happily say, "We're good. Very good."
Soon, Meowth rushes over in a panic, "We gotta scram! Da twoips is coming!"
"Fine. Our work is done here," James says.
But Jessie says, "No, let's stay. Now's our chance to catch that Pikachu and Eevee."
"Perhaps you're right," James says.
"Yeah, but just tink about how many times da head twoip has beaten us," Meowth says.
"Well, the odds have changed," Jessie says, opens Pelipper's beak and tosses some Pokeballs in, "With the help of a few extra Pokéballs."
Meowth panics, "Wait! Too many Pokéballs and Pelipper will get confused!"
"So maybe we need an air traffic controller?" James says.
"A battle director," Jessie says
"Right. You'll do," James says and turns to Meowth.
Meowth panics, "No! Not me!"
Jessiea and James grab Meowth.
Meowth cries out, "Stop! You're outta your minds!"
The two proceed to put Meowth in Pelipper's beak, "In you go."
Meowth tries to get out, "Hey! I don't wanna do dis job!"
"But how could you turn this down?" Jessie replies.
And James says, "You know everybody wants to be a director. Even the guys who're directing this show."
"And just think, Meowth. You'll be the brains behind the world's most powerful Pokémon," Jessie says.
"I like da sound of dat. Woild's most powerful Pokemon," Meowth says.
Soon, Mew and the others stop onto the battlefield.
Mew shouts, "Hey, you! Give back all the Pokémon you took from those people!" But soon realizes something, "Wait. Where'd they go?"
Pelipper soon hops out with its beak full.
"Look, guys. It's that Pelipper," Tomo says.
Mew then asks, "But where's your trainer, Anthony?"
"And why is your beak stuffed?" Molly asks.
Jessie and James step in.
"That loser? He decided to step into early retirement," Jessie says.
"Which means Pelipper is now our prize possession," James says.
"No way Anthony would give Pelipper to anyone!" Mew says.
"Impossible!" Brock says.
"Now, if you want everyone's Pokémon cheerfully refunded, you'll have to battle us, first," Jessie says.
"But if you lose, then we get to keep your Pikachu and Eevee!" James says.
"What?" Mew asks, shocked.
"I don't trust these guys, something's weird about em," May says.
"But we can't let em get away with this!" Max says.
"Right, I have an idea," Mew says.
Then turns to the others, "I'm gonna battle em and win back everyone's Pokemon. Max, you and Tomo need to get in that gym and figure out what's going on."
"Right!" The young boys nod.
Eevee then gets in front, "Eevee Eevee!" (Good! I wanted a rematch anyway!)
"Like your spark, Eevee," Mew says.
"What Eevee said?" May asks.
"Eevee wants a rematch," Mew says.
Jessie says, "Pelipper, go on out there!"
Pelipper flies in.
"Eevee, go!" Mew calls out.
Eevee leaps into battle, while inside Pelliper's beak.
"Let's see," Meowth says, and picks a Pokeball, "Bellsprout, you're up!"
Bellsprout comes out.
"Great, now use Vine Whip?" Meowth says.
The vines extend, but Eevee dodges them easily.
Mew scoffs, "I'm not falling for the same trick twice."
Back inside Pelipper's beak.
Meowth says, "Magby, use Smokescreen."
Magby launches the smoke, and spreads around blinding Eevee and even Meowth and Magby.
"Enough of dat!" Meowth says and switches Magby out for Bellsprout, "Razor Leaf, now!"
The attack is launched, but Eevee easily out runs it.
"You're looking very good, Pelipper!" Jessie calls out.
"Yes, excellent work, Meowth!" James calls out, and corrects himself, "Uh, I mean, Pelipper!"
Eevee continues to dodge the Razor Leaf barrage.
"Go, Eevee! Hang in there!" May calls out.
"You can do it, Eevee!" Molly calls out.
"We know you can do it!" Brock calls out.
"You can't lose to that Pelipper!" Jen calls out.
Tomo turns to Max, "Let's go, Max."
"Right," Max says.
And with that, the boys run inside the gym to figure out what's going on and figure out what happened to Anthony.
Pelipper circles overhead.
"How do ya like dat? For my next trick," Mewoth says and gets Magby back out, "A healthy dose of Flamethrower!
The attack launches, but Meowth gets some of it.
"So dat's why, dey say never play with fiah," Meowth says.
Inside the gym building, Max and Tomo snoop around.
"You think the answer could be here?" Tomo asks.
"It has to. Excluding Eevee, there isn't another Pokemon alive that can use those attacks. It's gotta be a trick," Max says.
Suddenly, they hear muffled yelling.
"Huh?" Max says, confused.
Tomo turns to the door, "It's coming from here."
Tomo opens the door to find Anthony bound and gagged
"Anthony!" The boys exclaim in shock.
Back at the battlefield Pikachu continues to dodge the stream of fire and oncoming Razor Leaves.
"There's gotta be some way I can fight back! I've just gotta think of it!" Mew says.
Suddenly, they hear Max's voice, "Hey, Ashley!"
Mew and the others turn to see Max and Tomo coming out of the building with Anthony.
"I told you there was something fishy going on!" Max says.
Anthony apologizes, "I'm sorry. This whole thing is my fault."
"Huh?" Jen and Molly respond.
"What is he talking about?" May asks.
Then Mew understands, "I think I know what it was."
Seeing Anthony, Jessie becomes worried, "Uh oh.
"He's gonna spill the beans, Jess!" James panics,
Jessie cries out, "Come on, Meowth! Do something!"
"Oh, man. Well, dat's easier said den done," Meowth says, worried, but ends up with an idea, "I got it! A stroke of sheer brilliance! Foist I'll use a water attack ta soak Eevee trough and trough, den I'll zap it wit an electric attack from Magnemite for some serious damage! Let's see," He then looks around, "Dere's gotta be a water Pokemon around here, somewheres!" But soon realizes something, "Oh, of course! Dis Pelliper is part water Pokemon. So, Pelipper, use Water Gun attack, now!"
Pelipper launches the attack and nearly hits everyone, but ends up soaking Team Rocket after they laugh in triumph, washing away their disguises.
Messie cries out, "Meowth! You're supposed to be in control!"
"I tink my directin' went in the wrong direction!" Meowth panics.
Soon, Meowth and all the other Pokemon, both in and out of a Pokéball, are sent flying out of Pelipper's beak by the force of the Water Gun before they land on Team Rocket.
"Dis mean I'm fired?" Meowth asks.
Brock says, "It's Team Rocket and Meowth!"
"And Meowth and a lot of Pokeballs and some Pokemon came out from Pelippers mouth," Molly adds, surprised.
"What's going on? Jen asks.
Mew turns to Anthony, "I thought that strange sound and glow from Pelipper sounds familiar. Anthony, you've been keeping some of your Pokeballs in Pelipper's mouth, haven't you?"
"That's right, Mew. What happened was only made to look like Pelipper was using those attacks, but it was actually his other Pokemon that did it," Max says.
And then Anthony confesses, "And I had to do what Team Rocket wanted so they wouldn't give away my secret."
"That sounds like something those guys would do," Mew says.
"So, big deal! Who cares if yous know?" Meowth says.
"Yeah, it's history!" Jessie says.
"So are we!" James says.
Team Rocket tries to make a break for it.
"Come back!" Mew shouts.
Team Rocket soon lifts off in their balloon with a laugh of triumph
"We're going home to deck the halls…" James says.
"Wit dis bulgin' bag of Pokéballs!" Meowth says.
But Anthony is not letting this go, "Oh, no you're not! Go, Pelipper, get back those Pokemon!"
Pelipper darts forward and cuts the rope easily, causing the bag to drop, just in time for four of our heroes to catch it.
"Gotcha!" Max, Tomo, Jen, and Brock catch the Pokeballs.
"Stealing those Pokéballs took a lot of hard work!" James says.
"At times like this, there's only one thing to do!" Jessie says.
"Right!" Team Rocket says.
They soon don their armored football uniforms again.
"Our anti-Pikachu and Eevee…" Jessie says.
"Electricity defense…" James adds.
"Is now in place! Time ta implement da Pikachu and Eevee capture plan! Go!" Meowth shouts and a mechanical arm lowers from the balloon.
"No you don't! Pikachu, Thunderbolt em!" Mew calls out.
Pikachu performs the attack but the rubber hand on the arm blocks both.
"A good team always has a strong defense!" Jessie says with confidence.
"A strong rubber coating also helps!" James says.
"Lectrically speaking, dat means hero proof!" Meowth adds.
And Wobbuffet says, "Wobbuffet!" (And how!)
"Alright, we gotta think of something, quick!" Mew says
"We need to find some way for the electricity to get through," Max says.
Then May says, "What if we cover it with water?"
Brock agrees to the idea, "That's it! Water conducts electricity! Anthony?"
"Right, Brock, leave it to me!" Anthony says and calls out, "Go, Pelipper, use Water Gun on the balloon!"
Pelipper does just that damping the balloon, though Team Rocket thinks the attacks were pointless and fruitless.
"If you think a little water can stop us, well, then you're all wet!" Jessie says.
"Dis is a clean getaway!" Meowth says.
The arm goes forward.
"Okay, Pikachu, Eevee, use a Double Thunderbolt attack!" Mew calls out.
Both Pikachu and Eevee charge in as Team Rocket realizes what's happening.
Jessie realizes, "Hold on! Didn't someone say water conducts electricity?"
Pikachu and Eevee launch the attack as Team Rocket goes pale, knowing what was coming next.
"That they did! Correct!" James panics.
Both attacks hit the balloon.
"But dat don't mean dey were right!" Meowth says.
But right on cue, the attacks take their toll and shock Team Rocket with twice the power before destroying the balloon and sending them flying
"Now we know water does conduct electricity!" Jessie cries out.
"Looks like we were wrong again!" James says.
"A shocking conclusion," Meowth adds.
Team Rocket cries out, "We're blasting off again!"
Back on the ground, Mew and the others check to see if all the Pokéballs were in the bag.
"They're all there!" Mew says.
"Now we'll be able to give all those people back their Pokéballs," Tomo says.
"That's great. And I sure owe you folks a big apology," Anthony says.
"Your battling strategy might've been a teeny little bit shady, but when the goin' gets tough, you are one great team player," Max says.
"He's right about that, Anthony," Brock says.
Then Mew says, "And your Pelipper really is strong. If you two keep working together, it'll get even stronger."
"You know what? You're right!" Anthony says, "And I'm going to train my Pelipper to really be the world's strongest Pelipper, if not the world's strongest Pokemon! Where there's a will, there's always a way!
Mew extends her hand, "You're right about that."
Anthony accepts the hand of sportsmanship, "Thanks, Ashley."
"Wow! This Pokemon stuff gets better all the time," May says
The Pokemon all agree.
The legend of the world's most powerful Pokemon may have been just an illusion, but the friendship and comradery born between trainers is as real as it gets. And now, our heroes continue their journey towards Rustboro City.
